Mind-bending virtual reality games that transport players to new worlds, where they can battle monsters, explore alien landscapes, or test their skills in a range of challenges

This session is designed for young people going into Year 7 or currently in year 7 to support them during their transition into secondary school.
We want young people to have a smooth transition into secondary school with all the support possible, this gives young people the chance to stay in contact with other young people from their primary school or local area.
This programme changes on a termly basis, this term we are focusing on a Young Leaders project that supports the group to fund ideas around their community looking as social issues and tackling them together.

Then this project is for you!
About the project
The Women Empowerment Project is a new social action music project at SoapBox Youth Centre where between 8 and 12 young women come together to discuss a variety of issues which affect women today. The group will then narrow these topics down to one and will then write, produce & record a song that explores this area.
The track will then be released on all SoapBox’s Social Media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Who we are looking for?

Young women aged between 16 and 25 years old;

Individuals who enjoy music, photography, spoken word or are good at social media promotion;

People who want to talk about important issues and make the world a better place.
So, if this sounds like you, then please sign up, there's a creative window for everybody!

SoapBox really wants to give young women like yourself a platform where they can express their voice, alongside the confidence, resources and skills to work with what you've got to speak up about uncomfortable topics. The Co-Spaces VR course is a drop-in session. Create your own immersive, virtual reality environments. Learn how to use entry-level VR software to develop a virtual reality experience.
Workshop Structure:
Two hour workshops to learn basic skills in virtual reality game development; including:
- current developments within Virtual Reality;
- receive feedback on ideas;
- share learning and ideas with peers;
- Look at other work that has been created in the past.
Each of these weekly workshops will be themed:
- How to start up a game;
- Game Storyboarding;
- Basic coding skills;
- Where to go/who to talk to when developing a game, websites and videos
- Get advice on next steps
- How to showcase and promote a game.

We want young people to have a smooth transition into secondary school with all the support possible, this gives young people the chance to stay in contact with other young people from their primary school or local area.
This programme changes on a termly basis, this term we are focusing on a Young Leaders project that supports the group to fund ideas around their community looking as social issues and tackling them together.

Then this project is for you!
About the project
The Women Empowerment Project is a new social action music project at SoapBox Youth Centre where between 8 and 12 young women come together to discuss a variety of issues which affect women today. The group will then narrow these topics down to one and will then write, produce & record a song that explores this area.
The track will then be released on all SoapBox’s Social Media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Who we are looking for?

Individuals who enjoy music, photography, spoken word or are good at social media promotion;

People who want to talk about important issues and make the world a better place.

The Co-Spaces VR course is a drop-in session. Create your own immersive, virtual reality environments. Learn how to use entry-level VR software to develop a virtual reality experience.

Two hour workshops to learn basic skills in virtual reality game development; including:

- receive feedback on ideas;

Learn how to use Ableton, music production software.
Ableton music course provides learning opportunity on how to create tracks and Logic course provides good understanding of the software
- Introduction and overview of industry standard software
- Writing, recording, and producing music
- Digital production, how to record, edit and mix live and pre-recorded items, in sound, video and for web content
Each of these workshops will be themed around specific areas of music industry, including:
- Voice and sound
- Production, writing and recording
- Audio and digital production
- Live performing, DJing, recording
These events are open to all young people aged between 16 and 25 years old.

The Co-Spaces VR course is a drop-in session. Create your own immersive, virtual reality environments. Learn how to use entry-level VR software to develop a virtual reality experience.
Workshop Structure:
Two hour workshops to learn basic skills in virtual reality game development; including:
- current developments within Virtual Reality;
- receive feedback on ideas;
- share learning and ideas with peers;
- Look at other work that has been created in the past.
Each of these weekly workshops will be themed:
- How to start up a game;
- Game Storyboarding;
- Basic coding skills;
- Where to go/who to talk to when developing a game, websites and videos
- Get advice on next steps
- How to showcase and promote a game.
Open to all young people aged between 13 and 25 years old.
